Luiz, 28, left Villa Park for Juventus in the summer of 2024, but failed to make much of an impression in Italy.
The midfielder then moved on loan to Nottingham Forest last year, but again, he struggled to get up to gear.
Villa swooped in to re-sign him in January as they prepared for the second half of the season and Luiz managed to make 20 appearances across all competitions, scoring one goal.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Europa League champions have decided against making Luiz’s transfer permanent.
Unai Emery’s side had a €25 million buy option included in the deal, but Luiz will now return to Juventus with the club expected to sell him.
