Frank was sacked by Tottenham Hotspur after eight months in charge on Wednesday morning as he leaves a side who are yet to win a Premier League game in 2026.
Spurs are 16th and the midst of a relegation as they start their hunt for a new manager this week ahead of their clash with Arsenal next week.
Arteta wishes Frank well
Rival manager Arteta was asked about the news in his latest press conference and heaped praise on to the Danish head coach who he greatly admires.
"Obviously, very sad news when you have a colleague that doesn't continue doing his job.
“Thomas is an excellent coach, he’s an extraordinary man as well, and he’s proven that in the league.
“We know where we are, we know our responsibility is beyond just performance. Sometimes results dictate what happens with us.
“Wish him all the very best for whatever he decides to do next.”
Arteta has a lot of respect for Frank
Spurs were booed off by their own supporters at both half-time and full-time after the loss to Newcastle this week. This was the final straw for Frank who Arteta went on to say he respects greatly.
"A lot. More than respect, probably it's admiration.
"He's done it with a football club where everybody shares the vision, they have a very clear identity. It's a club, a team that we can learn a lot from because the way they did it is very, very clever, in my opinion, and then the way the model has sustained and evolved as well is really well-timed."
Frank arrived in the summer as the popular Ange Postecoglou's replacement but won just seven and lost 11 of his 26 league games in charge after what was a disastrous spell in North London.
Arsenal take on Brentford on Thursday night as they look to maintain their Premier League title lead, whilst Spurs seek a new manager over the coming week.
