Jack Wilshere has made an impressive start to life as Luton Town manager and is already planning for next season by targeting loans from his old club, Arsenal.

The former England international revealed he is willing to approach the Gunners boss Mikel Arteta about signing teenage talents Max Dowman and Ethan Nwaneri for the upcoming campaign.

Speaking to talkSPORT, the 34-year-old confirmed his admiration for the pair after guiding Luton to EFL Trophy success and a near promotion play-off place.

“The answer to that is yes!” Wilshere said. “Whoever Mikel doesn’t want, I’ll just call him and ask him.”

Dowman has scored seven goals in 17 appearances this season. In March, aged just 16 years and 73 days, he became the Premier League’s youngest scorer during a 2-0 win over Everton.

Meanwhile, Nwaneri also enjoyed a productive season, making 23 appearances and scoring three goals, including two while on loan at Marseille.

Arteta is keen to continue accelerating both youngsters' first-team development.
