Arsenal are reportedly lining up a bid for Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze and regard him as their number one target once the Viktor Gyokeres transfer is confirmed.

Gyokeres is currently in London finalising his deal with the North London club after one of the summer’s longest transfer sagas.

Arsenal have no intention of stopping there, however, and have made Eze, 27, their priority target once they get the Sweden international over the line, according to The Independent.

The report adds that Arsenal are the England international’s preferred destination despite rumoured interest from the likes of Chelsea and Tottenham.

Arsenal are hoping to agree a fee of around £60 million for Eze rather than pay the reported £68 million release clause in his Crystal Palace contract.

There is also a possibility that unwanted winger Reiss Nelson, who spent last season on loan at Fulham, is included in the deal.
