While a shaky victory over Burnley on Saturday has earned the manager some respite, A Bola says Amorim's position is being discussed inside the United board room.
The Portuguese is losing the confidence of the dressing room, with some players fed-up with Amorim's rigid system and tactics. There's a belief his central back three formation isn't suited to the Premier League.
There is also a section of the squad upset with the public criticism Amorim has aimed at them, particularly after the Carabao Cup defeat at Grimsby: "Yes, sometimes I hate players. But when they give it their all, I will always love them. We should have always maintained this level of intensity."
Meanwhile, some inside the board room are unimpressed by Amorim's attitude and his claims he has been ready to walk out on the club at times since his arrival.
