Scott said it was a “dream come true” to earn his first call up under manager Thomas Tuchel over the past week after an impressive run of form for the Cherries since the start of the season.
However, he as well as Guehi have already being hit with a huge blow after being left out of the 23-man match day squad for Thursday's game against Serbia in what will have been a tough choice for Tuchel.
Guehi meanwhile was injured in Palace’s 3-1 Conference League win over AZ Alkmaar last week and Tuchel has taken precautions over the defender who he said had suffered “no structural damage” in his foot injury which was a relief for Palace fans.
With only four matches to play before Tuchel selects his World Cup squad, this international break seems crucial for the Three Lions, who must start to pick a consistent squad that could feature in next year’s tournament.
After Serbia, England travel to Albania for their final qualification game on Sunday, which does not mean a whole lot to the side who have already qualified. This break is all about Tuchel’s squad, and his Serbia line up should reveal more about who may start in next year’s World Cup run.
