Earlier this month, Vancouver exercised their 2026 contract option on Müller as the iconic German striker committed himself to the MLS side.
The 36-year-old will become a Designated Player next season but despite staying with the club for at least another year, he admits that he is making no effort to learn the common language.
"Honestly, I find myself despairing at the same things as I do at home," Muller confessed in the interview. "For example, I had firmly intended to actively work on my English skills with an app. I wanted to make an effort to get better quickly.
"In the end, I caught myself letting the days rush by. I even had enough time, but I am simply too lazy to use the app."
The former Bayern Munich star also stated that the slight language barrier does not stop him from having banter with his teammates.
"I would put it this way: I don't hold back with stupid remarks even in English," he laughed. "And garnished with grammatical blunders, they are certainly even a bit stranger than at home."
Muller will aim to guide his side to the title next season after a fine start with the Canadian side, scoring 8 goals and bagging 3 assists in 12 MLS appearances.
