The 31-year-old has officially left the Spanish capital, joining up with international teammate Messi at Inter Miami for a reported fee of €15 million.
De Paul spent that past four years at Atletico Madrid, making 187 appearances and scoring 14 goals for Diego Simeone’s side but failing to win any silverware.
Atletico wished the midfielder well in their announcement of the deal, saying: “From our club, we wish Rodrigo de Paul the best of luck in his future personal and professional endeavours.”
Messi is seemingly collecting ex-teammates in Miami, with Luis Suarez, Jordi Alba, and Sergio Busquets already at the club.
