Christian Benteke has appreciated D.C. United and its supporters despite the club declining his contract option for 2026.

The former Belgium international joined the American outfit from Premier League side Crystal Palace and he has signaled his end at Audi Field with his recent post on social media.

“Thank you to D.C United for giving me the opportunity to grow and prove myself in the MLS. To the fans, my teammates, the staff and the city, your support during my three years meant everything to me. Grateful for the journey and ready for the next chapter,” Benteke wrote on Instagram. 

During the striker’s spell with the Washington based outfit, the striker contributed to 47 goals and 10 assists which includes a 30 goal MLS regular season campaign during the 2024 season.
