Gueye (above) scored five goals in Ligue 2 last season and is rated at €15m.
Meanwhile, United are also tracking Angers teenager Dan Sinate.
The left-back has just signed pro terms with Angers, though is aware of United's interest with contact established. For the moment, United plan to maintain a watching brief on Sinate for the coming season.
