Liam Rosenior is set to be announced as Chelsea boss this week as he leaves Ligue 1 side Strasbourg.

Rosenior flew to London on Sunday while Chelsea drew 1-1 with Manchester City, a result salvaged by a late goal from Enzo Fernandez.

It is possible the Englishman could take charge in time for Wednesday’s Premier League visit of Fulham, as Chelsea fans prepare to welcome the young manager who will replace Enzo Maresca.

However, as Rosenior joins the Blues, Strasbourg will also need to find a replacement. BlueCo, who own both Chelsea and the French side, have reportedly wasted no time in finding a replacement, however, as they target a former Wolves manager.

Gary O’Neil has become a leading contender to take over from Rosenior. O'Neil has been out of work since being sacked as Wolves boss in December 2024, but is reportedly open to return to management despite being a pundit on the Match of the Day at the weekend.

If he did take the role, he would become one of the few English managers to test themselves in Ligue 1 which includes Rosenior of course as well as Will Still who managed Reims and Lens.
