Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois as become a club owner.

Le Mans FC, of ​​the French second division, has officially announced the Belgian goalkeeper's investment in the French club through NxtPlay Capital, the global investment platform he co-founded with Gonzalo Vila.

NxtPlay, focused on the intersection of sport, media, and technology , joins the Le Mans club in partnership with NinetyTwo X, the firm of entrepreneur Jordi Mora Esteve, specialiszing in sports intellectual property rights. 

The transaction is part of a broader expansion of the club's shareholding structure. Brazilian investment fund OutField, which acquired a stake in Le Mans FC last summer, finalized the acquisition today, becoming the majority shareholder.

Thierry Gomez, who founded the project in 2016, remains as President and CEO, ensuring the continuity of the club's day-to-day operations.

OutField is leading the operation and making the multi-million euro investment, with NxtPlay and NinetyTwo X as strategic partners in this new phase.

 

 

Novak Djokovic, a legend of world tennis, was one of the first to invest in the club. He was followed by Felipe Massa and Kevin Magnussen , two Formula 1 drivers with a direct emotional connection to the city of Le Mans, home of the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans. 

With the addition of Courtois, Le Mans FC now adds a European football star to an unprecedented sporting constellation for a French second-division club.
