The 33-year-old’s return to football after his doping ban has not gone to plan so far as he struggles for game time with the Ligue 1 side after a series of injuries.
However, the Frenchman seems determined to push forward with his career as he takes a gigantic pay cut from the £290,000-per-week he was reportedly earning at Manchester United.
According to a report from L’Equipe, Pogba earns below £44,000 a week, meaning he is not inside the top 10 earners at Monaco let alone Ligue 1.
After three and a half months out with a calf problem, Pogba reappeared during the international break in a closed-doors friendly against Brentford’s B team at La Turbie and Manager Sebastien Pocognoli recently said that he hopes he will be back on the pitch after the March international break.
Pogba scored his first goal since 2022 against Brentford's B team as he fired in a shot from outside the box. His last before this came when he found the net for Man United in a 1-1 draw with Burnley in the Premier League.
In competitive matches he has only 30 minutes for Monaco this season and the French side will hope he can make more of an impact now that club football is back this weekend.
