AS Monaco coach Sebastien Pocognoli admits Paul Pogba's debut may not happen for several more weeks.

There was hope of Pogba featuring in Saturday's defeat to Paris FC, but an ankle strain suffered in Thursday ruled out the former Manchester United and Juventus midfielder.

After the defeat, Pocognoli delivered an update on Pogba and his fitness.

"The French international has a grade 2 sprain. That's all I can say for now. He will have another additional exam next week, I think. It's a medium sprain," said Pocognoli.

"Availability can vary from a few days to one or two weeks, this will be confirmed next week and then we will see."
