With 49 appearances in all competitions, 7 goals and 6 assists last season with PSG, Kang-In Lee (24) is the first PSG player to win the title of Asian International Player of the Year, for which only players from outside Asia are nominated.
The South Korean international (42 caps, 10 goals), who was not included in the first-choice team, was used by Luis Enrique in a number of positions: in midfield, on the flanks and even as a false No9. He scored in this summer's Supercup against Tottenham ( 2-2, 4-3 on penalties).
"Considered one of the greatest talents in Asian football, the Incheon native is writing a new page in the history of football on his continent and of Paris Saint-Germain," commented the club in a statement on Thursday.
