Papin told RMC: "I haven't seen OM play like this for a long time, with such desire, intensity, seriousness and physical strength.
"Some of the players impressed me."
Papin highlighted former Manchester United attacker Mason Greenwood's contribution and the team's defensive solidity, capable of pressuring PSG high up the pitch.
"I saw Greenwood do things he wasn't used to doing. In the second half, PSG tried to control the game, but Marseille never gave up," he added.
