The 20-year-old picked up a serious shoulder injury in Rennes’ 3-1 Ligue 1 win over Lens earlier in the season, just days after his summer move to Liverpool was confirmed.
According to Ouest-France, the defender is set to go under the knife due to his injury, making his chances of featuring for Rennes before he leaves unlikely.
It’s understood that Liverpool have been in close contact with Jacquet, but played no part in the decision.
