Morton joined Liverpool as a seven-year-old, working his way up through their academy to make 14 appearances for the first team.
He had loan spells with Championship sides Blackburn and Hull but failed to establish himself at his boyhood club last season, making just five appearances across all competitions.
It’s understood that Liverpool are still keen on bringing Newcastle’s Alexander Isak to the club this summer and could use the funds earned from Morton’s sale.
