The Blues and the Ligue 1 club, who are both owned by American Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital under the BlueCo umbrella are continuing their business between each other. Mathis Amougou and Ishé Samuels-Smith are the two players who are moving to Strasbourg for good whilst Sarr joins Kendry Paez, and Mike Penders on loan for the season.
A FIFA Club World Cup champion in 2025 with Chelsea, the French U20 will be delighted to return to his old club for the season as they compete for a European spot in Ligue 1. Chelsea released a brief statement confirming the deal which suits both parties.
“Chelsea defender Mamadou Sarr has joined RC Strasbourg on a season-long loan.
“The centre-back joined the Blues from the Ligue 1 side in June and was included in our squad for the Club World Cup.
“Sarr, a France Under-20 international, made his Chelsea debut in our victory over ES Tunis and featured in every match day squad en route to the Blues being crowned world champions.
“We look forward to monitoring and supporting Mamadou’s development throughout his loan. Good luck, Mamadou!”
The Frenchman featured in every match day squad en route to the Blues becoming world champions last month and is the latest Chelsea player to be tested in the French first division as he continues his development away from the club.
