According to reports from Onze Mondial, negotiations are now at an advanced stage with only minor details remaining to be finalised, including the terms of Christophe Pélissier’s departure.
The 33-year-old has been out of work since his dismissal from Southampton last November, following a difficult spell in which he recorded just four wins in 16 matches.
Despite that setback, he is now set for a return to French football, a league he knows well from previous roles at Stade de Reims and RC Lens.
He had also recently been linked with moves to FC Lorient, Toulouse FC, Paris FC and FC Nantes.
Meanwhile, Auxerre’s wider leadership structure is expected to remain stable, with sporting director David Wantier and president Baptiste Malherbe both set to continue in their roles.
