On Friday, Paços de Ferreira's members approved the naming of the north stand of the Capital do Móvel stadium after Diogo Jota, at a General Assembly (GA) which revealed a "very bad" financial situation and unpaid salaries.

The north stand of the Capital do Móvel Stadium will be named after the Portuguese international Diogo Jota, a former player at the club, in a decision that received the approval of the majority of members present at the General Meeting held at the Moinhos Pavilion in Frazão, Paços de Ferreira.

Former Liverpool striker Jota was killed alongside brother Andre Silva in a car accident in Spain earlier this summer.

The general meeting also revealed "a very bad financial situation", which, according to an official source at the Liga 2 club, is expressed in a debt of "around 5.3 million euros".

At the same AGM, the members also learnt that there is no white smoke regarding the entry of a shareholder for a future SAD to be set up and confirmed the existence of unpaid wages.

"A few days over a month," according to the same source.
