The Real Madrid legend has announced he's played his last game for Monterrey as he seeks a playing return in Europe.
Ramos is leaving after Monterrey's defeat in the semifinals of Apertura on the weekend.
Reacting to Ramos' departure, Tato said: "We had been seeing for a long time that there was no possibility of continuing.
"We were surprised that Sergio announced it immediately after the match, but he was fully within his rights."
Tato also clarified the situation of other key figures: Sergio Canales will remain, thanks to a renewal clause activated by his performance, while coach Domenec Torrent will remain at Rayados, as he is still under contract in 2026.
