James is said to be preparing to return to Europe, but Atletico Nacional are ready to offer the midfielder the chance to return home to Colombia.
Higuita is hopeful that an agreement can be reached, stating: "When I played for Atlético Nacional, I would have really liked to see James on my team; if I were the manager, I would sign him.
"Here in Mexico, they enjoyed him for a season. James will find a team and he will do so quickly. What he's done and shown clearly speaks volumes about his quality.
"Sometimes things go well in life, sometimes not; he's not finished yet and he's a very young player who still has a lot to offer."
