Schuster, who played for Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Atlético de Madrid during his playing career, told Efe: “When I saw him I said: this is a player for Spain, for one of the big three.
"I could see him at Barcelona and at a revamped Real Madrid.
“This player has surprised me a lot… he’s a goalscorer, he has an easy time scoring but he’s a team player , who provides assists for his teammates."
Diaz's contract at Bayern runs to 2029.
