It's been claimed Xabi's demise at Real Madrid was caused by a fracture of his relationship with the dressing room.
But Courtois insisted to reporters after their Champions League win against Manchester City last week: "No one tried to get Xabi fired.
"We worked hard. It has been said that we did not like the tactics or the video rounds. But I have had a coach like Antonio Conte where we sat in meetings for an hour every day. It doesn't matter, because we are professionals and the job comes first."
He also insists that this type of preparation is a natural part of elite sports.
"If I need to watch half an hour of video, I will. It is part of the preparations for matches. This summer I spoke to NFL players sitting from nine in the morning until six or eight in the evening analyzing video. It's nothing strange."
