Now with Al-Ittihad, Benzema's deal expires at the end of the season and France Goal reports he could become available in January for €6-7m.
The 37 year-old is interesting Mourinho, who is confident Benzema would score regularly in Portugal's Liga.
Benzema, 37, played 35 matches for Al Ittihad last season in all competitions, exceeding 3,000 minutes of play, in which he scored 26 goals and provided 9 assists.
