Alonso, 44, and Real Madrid are enduring a rough patch of form, winning just one of their last five La Liga games.
Their 2-0 lose to Celta Vigo on Sunday (December 7) has seen reports come out of Spain suggesting that if Real Madrid don’t beat Man City, Alonso will lose his job.
According to El Mundo, club officials held an emergency meeting after the Celta Vigo defeat and have drawn up a shortlist of potential replacements for Alosno.
One of those names is former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, who took on the Head of Global Soccer position at Red Bull in the summer.
Klopp has stated several times that he isn’t looking to return to management any time soon, and is happy in his current position.
