The former Bournemouth defender joined Real Madrid over the summer and has quickly settled.
Now with the Spain squad this week, Huijsen said: "It's a big step for any player to come to Real Madrid. I feel good.
"What do I like most? The dressing room, the people... Everyone has welcomed me really well. Even the facilities, the trips... everything is spectacular. I'm very happy. I listen to (Toni) Rüdiger and (Dani) Carvajal a lot, but we're a very close-knit group and we do things together."
On calling the likes of Vini Jr and Kylian Mbappe teammates, Huijsen was effusive.
He added, "It's the best thing for me, because it makes me improve every day. Sometimes training is even better than the matches."
