Athletic Bilbao captain Inaki Williams was jeered by home fans during their Spanish Super Cup semifinal defeat to Barcelona.

Going into the 5-0 reverse, Inaki had declared it "sucks" that the tournament was being staged in Saudi Arabia.

"For me, playing in Saudi Arabia is rubbish, to put it bluntly," he declared without mincing words days before traveling to play the semifinal in Jeddah.

"Having to move a national competition to another country doesn't make it easier for the fans to travel. Based on our fan base, it feels like we're playing away from home, and if it were in Spain, we all know how many fans would be there to support us."

In response, the home fans didn't hesitate to greet the footballer with a deafening chorus of boos - and from the very first minute. The number 9 came out to warm up and the first whistles unleashed pandemonium at the King Abdullah Sport City Stadium.

From then on, the home fans didn't stop showing their anger towards Inaki. They didn't let up for a single second. There was no respite. It was either when touching the ball or threatening to press... and the entire stadium would erupt to punish Iñaki
