It's been suggested Ter Stegen will move to Girona in the coming days to play on-loan to the end of the season. Frozen out at Barca, Ter Stegen needs regular football to be sure of his place in Germany's World Cup squad next summer.
Asked about the speculation, Michel said on Monday: "He's a top player, everyone would love to have a player like him..."
Encouraged by Barca management to find himself a new club, Ter Stegen's deal runs to 2028 with the Blaugrana.
