Lewandoswki has scored 119 goals in 191 games, helping Barca win several trophies including 3 La Liga titles. He leaves as club legend and manager Hansi Flick was keen to express his gratitude towards him after the 3-1 victory over Real Betis

“I think it was a perfect farewell. It was very emotional. You could see that he carries Barça in his heart. I’m very grateful to Robert. He’s a fantastic person and a world-class player.”

“For the last 20 years, he’s been the best ‘No. 9’ in the world and it won’t be easy to find his replacement.

“We need a ‘No. 9’ who’s connected with the team, but above all, one who scores goals.

“He’s given us incredible moments, goals and titles. We’ll miss him. All of us. He’s a world-class player and a good person.”

Manchester United have been linked with a move for the veteran striker as they seek to bring in an experienced player who knows how to lead a side to a league title.

Lewandowski’s future is up in the air however and he has plenty of time to decide where he wants to go next ahead of this summer’s World Cup.
