Pena signed a new deal to 2029 before agreeing to the move to Elche. The shot-stopper was also fielding interest from Serie A Como before choosing to remain in LaLiga.
Pena's move to Elche does not include a permanent option.
The goalkeeper has had a previous loan spell with Galatasaray.
