FC Barcelona are top of the table followed by Real Madrid, Villarreal CF and Atlético de Madrid, with RCD Espanyol sitting fifth following a strong start to the season and with Real Betis currently sixth in their bid to secure European qualification for yet another season.
Meanwhile, the relegation battle is expected to be fierce again, with teams such as Real Oviedo, Levante UD, Valencia CF, RCD Mallorca, Deportivo Alavés and CA Osasuna looking to avoid going down to LALIGA HYPERMOTION.
On an individual level, several stars, including Kylian Mbappé and Lamine Yamal, are leading the rankings again, with others, such as Vedat Muriqi, Alberto Moleiro, Ferran Torres and Luis Milla, also enjoying an extraordinary campaign.
The reigning Pichichi tops the charts again
A few months after being awarded with the prize for the league’s top scorer in his first season on Spanish soil, Mbappé is currently leading the scoring charts with 18 goals in as many games. The Frenchman took the league by storm last season by ending 2024/25 on 31 goals that earned him the Pichichi Trophy.
This term, Mbappé is followed by Muriqi and Torres, who have netted 11 goals each. Last season’s second-top scorer, Robert Lewandowski (nine goals), has been left behind in the race for the accolade and it remains to be seen if he can bounce back with a potential scoring streak in the second half of the season.
Moleiro leads race for the Zarra Trophy
As for the battle for the Zarra Trophy, awarded to the Spanish player with the highest goals tally, a sublime Moleiro leads the rankings with eight goals in 18 games after getting his name on the scoresheet in Villarreal CF’s 3-1 win over Deportivo Alavés last Saturday.
Second in the charts sit an ever-present Lamine Yamal, who has bagged seven league goals in 12 games, and RC Celta striker Borja Iglesias, who has netted seven times in 17 matches. They are followed by Jorge de Frutos, Hugo Duro, Milla and Rafa Mir, who have scored six each.

Milla and Lamine Yamal are the assist kings
No player has registered more assists so far this season than Luis Milla and Lamine Yamal, who have managed seven apiece. The latter has done so in 15 games, in which he has recorded a total of 14 goal contributions.
Meanwhile, Milla, who reached this tally on 18 appearances for José Bordalás side, has been leading the charts since early in the season thanks to four assists in his first four games of the campaign.
Other players who are standing out when it comes to assists are Marcus Rashford, Arda Güler and Fede Valverde, who have bagged six each.
The Zamora race could go down to the wire
Real Madrid shot-stopper Thibaut Courtois is the current leader of the battle for the Zamora Trophy, awarded to the goalkeeper with the lowest goals-to-games ratio. Having conceded 17 goals in 19 games, he tops the rankings ahead of RCD Espanyol’s Marko Dmitrović (20 in 19 matches).
However, six-time Zamora winner Jan Oblak (17 in 18), last season’s breakout keeper Joan García (nine in 13) and Villarreal CF’s Luiz Júnior (11 in 15) are expected to compete for the accolade down the stretch.
It should be noted that in order to be considered for the prize, a goalkeeper should have disputed at least 28 matches with 60 minutes played in each.
Courtois has also managed a league-high eight clean sheets, followed by García, Luiz Júnior and Dmitrović, who have kept seven apiece.
