The 28-year-old secured a loan move from boyhood club Man United to Barcelona this summer, with the La Liga club having a £30 million option to buy in the deal.
Rashford has impressed since joining, scoring six goals and providing five assists in his 14 games across all competitions.
According to a report from Spanish outlet Sport, Barcelona are keen on making the deal permanent, with the fee not expected to be an issue.
The problem is the England international’s reported £300,000 a week wages, a pay packet that the club would be unwilling to match.
It’s understood that Barcelona have told Rashford he would have to take a significant pay cut if he wants to join permanently next summer.
