Barcelona sports chief Deco admits they could sell players in January.

Deco says funds do still need to be raised to bankroll their projects, including paying for the Nou Camp's improvements.

He explained, "The club needs to be rebuilt. It's a step-by-step process. The president is very brave. He had the courage to get involved with the club while simultaneously rebuilding the team, the stadium, and the finances, so it's not easy. But the club is on the right track."

Deco appreciates the level of La Masia , which means they don't have to look outside the club: "As sporting director, you have to analyze what we have within the club and then go to the market.

"When you have players like Lamine, Cubarsí, Gavi, Balde, or Marc Casadó... They are important players for us right now, you don't need to be in the market. You don't need to sign players."

He also said: "Our main idea is not to sell players; Barcelona isn't a club that likes to do that.

"But, of course, we have to improve in that area, because sometimes it's also necessary to sell players. To sell young players, you need control. You have to be attentive to when their contracts end. You have to plan for their future."
