Real intend to appeal the decision, as the midfielder was sent off on 77 minutes.
After the 3-2 win, Arbeloa said: "We have shown a character and mentality worthy of this badge. We had to suffer, I have a different view of the referee regarding the red card and I am grateful that he came to explain it to me.
"He told me it was excessive force, but I saw it differently; there was no intention to hurt him. At least he came to explain it to me, and I appreciate that; it's always good that he does that. Now there's a break, but we're still in the fight for the league title; it's going to be a long battle."
On matchwinner Vinicius Junior, he continued: "Another great game from Vini, full of talent and fearlessness. He misses and tries again. As I always say, we're lucky to have him with us because of his desire to lift the team. I don't know if he's at the peak of his career, but he's certainly close."
Of his own experience as Real coach, Arbeloa reflected: "I didn't have time to work with them and I'm still getting to know them. It's not easy to arrive in the middle of a season and see how the team functions better.
"I already know what my players are like and I'm sure I still have a lot to learn because we're going to get players like Militao back, and now Jude is back. We have a lot of room for improvement."
He's now beaten Jose Mourinho, Pep Guardiola, and Diego Simeone as Real coach and added: "It puts my team in a great position. When you have the best players and they're all committed, everything is easier. I'm very lucky to have this team and to be at the Bernabéu. Let's keep winning, that's what's important."
