The former Barcelona star has returned to LaLiga after being released from his contract at Udinese.
Alexis has signed a 12 month deal with Sevilla and said: "These have been intense days. I've been waiting for this opportunity with the same desire as always. Coming to Sevilla, with the fans they have, who I've already faced twice with Manchester United and Barcelona, was exactly what I wanted. The stadium and the fans are intimidating.
"I've also had many opportunities to return to South America, but I still feel good physically. I still have a lot to give in Europe, especially at a big club like Sevilla. The stadium, the fans... I played against them here and it's truly fantastic. I think the club needs to be better than where it is now. It's a team that must always be where it was before: fighting for the Champions League and winning titles like the Europa League. It needs to get back to the top."
Regarding his relationship with new Sevilla coach Matias Almeyda, the Chilean said: "We spoke straight away and found ourselves on the same wavelength. I think I'm a bit like him, or he's a bit like me. We have the same desire to move forward, to stay united, and to do something great for Seville. I'll give it my all; I'm here to bring joy to the fans, the team, and the coaching staff."
Regarding his 35th birthday, El Niño Maravilla has clear ideas: "If you're professional and physically fit, age is just a number. I always have desire, experience, and a hunger for victory. I'm here not to play, but to compete and win titles."
