Lingard made a shock switch to South Korean side FC Seoul 18 months ago and has bagged 7 goals and 3 assists in 27 appearances this season. The 32-year-old scored two goals in four matches in July which saw him pick up two Man of the Match awards.

Now, he has also picked up a Player of the Week award to see him earn the accolade as the league's Player of the Month in what is one of biggest achievements of his career. Previously he was the Premier League Player of the Month for April 2021 while on loan with West Ham United but that does not close to his award for July.

The K League said Lingard tied Willyan of Suwon FC for first place in the technical study group voting and finished alone in first in the FC Online players voting and he finished first overall with 36.87 voting points.

The former Red Devil's contract at the club is due to expire in November, although FC Seoul have an option to extend his deal by a further 12 months as reports continue to link him with a move back to England and therefore the Premier League.
