Saudi Pro League side Al Ahli are reportedly weighing up a move for Liverpool forward Darwin Nunez who is unwanted by manager Arne Slot.

Liverpool have set their asking price for Darwin Nunez at a minimum of £61M this summer as they aim to match the fee they paid for him from Benfica 3 years ago which was an initial £64M. The Reds have famously spent big this summer as Slot improves his title winning side that looks to hold no place for the Uruguayan.

Liverpool played out the first friendly of their Asia tour without both Nunez and Luis Diaz who are set to leave the side over the next few weeks with the Colombian ready to take his medical tomorrow ahead of his move to Bayern Munich

Earlier this week, the club confirmed the £69M signing of Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt whilst Florian Wirtz arrived from Bayern Leverkusen to also improve a newly renovated attack that will be without Diaz and of course Diogo Jota who sadly died.

Now, writing in The Times, Paul Joyce reports that Al-Ahli, the winners of the Asia Champions League are ready to make a huge bid for Nunez who started just one of Liverpool's final 22 games in the Premier League under Slot last season.

Napoli have already pulled out of the running to sign the 26 year old whilst both Al-Nassr and Al-Hilal who made offers in January have not made an approach as of yet. Liverpool may already have Ekitike but they are also interested in Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak who is very keen to leave the club this summer.

If Liverpool can sell Nunez for close to £60M then it will only fuel the move for Isak to join the Reds in what would be one of the best pieces of business this summer. The financial incentives of moving to the Middle East are huge and Nunez would see himself play a lot more regularly then under Slot who is keen to move the striker on in favour of the Swedish international.
