Records set and debut made for Arteta's Arsenal kids at Mansfield

By starting in the 2-1 win at Field Mill, 16 year-old Dowman becomes the youngest player to do so for Arsenal.

Marli Salmon, also 16, also started today and saw his record as the club's youngest - which was set in the third round - beaten by his younger teammate.

Both players were changed by Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta on the hour mark.

Fellow academy kid Jaden Dixon, who joined Arsenal from Stoke City on the final day of the winter market, made his senior debut as a second-half substitute.
