England boss Thomas Tuchel called the Wembley crowd “disappointing” for booing White on his international return in England’s 1-1 draw with Uruguay.
Reports claim these boos stem from lingering resentment among some of the fan base regarding his perceived lack of commitment to the national team over the previous few years.
Former England assistant coach Steve Holland reportedly questioned White’s interest in football in front of the squad, leading to White leaving for personal reasons.
Now, speaking in his latest press conference as the international break comes to a close, Arteta was simply pleased to see White back in the Three Lions side.
"The volume was down, so I could not hear that.
"I could just see the big smile on his face and the way he came back from the national team and the good things he was telling about everybody.
"About the group, about the meetings that they had, about Thomas and everybody.
"That's great to hear because when you send a player to a national team you really want to bring back a better player. A player that is happy, a player that is available and fit.
"That was certainly Ben's case."
White will be involved against Southampton this weekend in the FA Cup as The Gunners look to book their place in the Semi Final of the competition.
