Szoboszlai made a big mistake to allow Barnsley to score in their 4-1 loss in the FA Cup as he attempted to flick the ball away in his own box.
He attempted to flick the ball towards goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, which allowed former Reds striker Adam Phillips to nip in and score.
Hourihane spoke after the game and suggested that the Hungarian would never try such a audacious move against teams he respected, as debate began once the final whistle blew.
“First and foremost, it’s such an amazing feeling for Adam to score in front of the Kop,” said the Barnsley boss. “He is a Liverpool fan and came up through the Academy here and had an outstanding game.
“It’s something he can always look back on, he can always say he scored at the Kop end.
“But I’m a little bit disappointed with their player if I’m honest. I thought he was a little bit disrespectful.
“I don’t think he does that against Chelsea or Arsenal or in a Champions League game. Delighted for Adam, but disrespectful from their player.”
Haaland also commented on Szoboszlai who fired in the opening goal with a stunning strike, stating that the midfielder should at least smile after such a cracking goal.
"Domi what a goal smile a bit."
