Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has spoken about rotating his side for the final stretch of the season.

Haaland has scored 37 goals and provided eight assists in 50 outings in all competitions this season in what has been another incredible campaign for the Norway international heading into the World Cup.

The 25-year-old, however, has played more than 2000 minutes more than Ousmane Dembele from Paris Saint-Germain in what has been a exhausting season for a player who is rarely benched by Guardiola

City face Chelsea in the FA Cup final this weekend before heading to head with Crystal Palace next Wednesday. Guardiola has revealed before the clashes that rotation is key as Haaland may miss out on at least one of the games.

"Yeah, especially Omar. It's not easy because normally we play with just one striker. He's a proper striker and Erling is there.

"Erling is so important for us. But the contribution of Omar, always he plays the amount of goals. And the rate for the minutes played is so high. So it's really good. We talked many times.

"I know it's not easy for them, but I'm pretty sure the next games they're going to play. I want to rotate the team. Because otherwise we cannot arrive in the final or Bournemouth a little bit...We'll see the result tomorrow and after we take our decisions.

"So it has been really nice for this schedule. But it's what it is. It's what it is, we accept. I always have said, don't play the final in FA Cup, you won't have this schedule.”

If Haaland is to miss a game, it would likely be the Palace clash as the FA Cup is far too important for him to miss. Rotation is key and it looks like Haaland will get a much-needed rest over the next week.
