FA Cup round-up: Wrexham upset Nottingham Forest as Wigan edge Preston

Wrexham beat Nottingham Forest on penalties in the third round of the FA Cup on Friday night, while Preston North End were defeated 1-0 by Wigan Athletic.

Goals by Liberato Cacace, Oliver Rathbone and Dom Hyam earned the Dragons a 3-3 draw before Arthur Okonkwo’s shootout saves sealed a 4-3 penalty win -- their first win over a Premier League outfit since 1999.

Harrison Bettoni fired League One's Wigan into the fourth round with a shock 1-0 win at Preston. His deflected strike settled a drab tie, with goalkeeper Sam Tickle preserving victory despite a late push.

Elsewhere in the FA Cup, Port Vale edged Fleetwood 1-0, while Oxford United progressed via a shootout victory of their own against MK Dons
