Tottenham, Arsenal’s North London rivals were all set to seal a deal for the Eagles man but have been powerless to prevent the Gunners’ approach this summer as the England international makes the switch to join manager Mikel Arteta who will be delighted with his new signing.
The forward had a £68M release clause in his Palace contract that expired last Friday, and reports claims that Arsenal have since agreed to pay the Eagles £60M plus £7.5M in add-ons for the 27-year-old.
Eze would need to be registered by 12pm BST on Friday to be eligible to make his Arsenal debut against Leeds United on Saturday and he will undergo his medical on Friday after he has appeared for Palace in their Europa League playoff clash with Fredrikstad at Selhurst Park.
Spurs continue to monitor the market for attacking reinforcements after missing out on Eze and manager Thomas Frank will have to move quick as only a few weeks remain before the transfer window shuts for good. Captain Heung-min Son has since moved to LAFC whilst the move for Nottingham Forest forward Morgan Gibbs-White broke down in what has been a mixed summer for Frank and his team.
