"George, 45 minutes, Jamal and Kadan as well, 30 or 20 minutes,” Emery said, speaking to VillaTV after the match.

“I think we need to get a plan with them, and their development needs as well, sometimes, try to give them chances to play like today.

“It was a very good day to do it and of course when we were losing, we gave them chances to play, and they did the assist and goal, Kadan and Jamal.

“I think it’s something really fantastic for, as well, the club, for the young players, how far or short is the way for them to be with us.

“I think it’s something today, we shared with our supporters as well, how important is the academy and how important (are) the young players for us.”

Great spirit

The result sees Villa finish second on the Europa League group table.

Emery also said:  “One side is this competition, and we want to try to get through it our way, being protagonists and of course getting a way for a trophy, getting a way for play and be getting emotion with our supporters.

“And we got it, because today we won and as well we created some emotions with our supporters, with the energy after we were losing 2-0 to react.

“How we came back the result I thought it was really fantastic, sharing everything with our supporters and transmitting them our energy and they were transmitting us as well their feelings.

“This is the way we want to build here, in this competition, in Villa Park, with our supporters, trying to get so, so motivated for this competition, and today was a fantastic day for it.”
