Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has reportedly told his squad that he does not want too many heart attack games as he continues to struggle.

Earlier this week, Ratcliffe indicated that Amorim could be given three years to prove himself despite many calling for him to be sacked since the start of the season which has seen United kicked out of the EFL Cup and sit 10th in the table.

Last Saturday’s 2-0 win over Sunderland was United’s most stable performance yet this season and shows Amorim’s side can control a game and collect three points.

However, United’s mixed performances and poor results are reportedly leading to low morale, and The Sun report that one source told them that Amorim is tired of so much drama.

“Amorim told the players that while the fans want drama, he doesn’t.

“He was very happy with the Sunderland game, he thought it was a professional performance and different to some of the heart attack-inducing football they have played this season and last.

“He told them that’s one of the reasons they haven’t been able to string a run of wins together.

“The games they have been involved in are too mentally draining and that’s causing them problems.

“Too many heart attack games which is mentally draining. That's what we want. Mature professional performances.”

The 40-year-old is approaching his first anniversary in charge after being appointed at the start of last November and faces Premier League champions Liverpool after the international break.

A win would see Amorim win two games in a row for the first time this season and would ease the mounting pressure on him which will only subside with good results.
