City enter this match off the back of a 1-0 defeat to Villa, whilst Swansea won for the first time in almost a month on Saturday, beating Norwich 2-1 in Wales. City have won the League Cup on eight occasions, with their last success coming in 2021 and will be aiming to avoid a cup upset against the Swans.
The Citizens have won 26 of their previous 37 matches against Swansea in all competitions, but anything can happen in football and the Championship side have the chance to shock many supporters.
Team News
Guardiola firstly gave some team news, starting with Erling Haaland: "Erling I didn't see today but was a knock and day by day it is better.
On Abdukodir Khusanov: "Khusanov is ready to play a few minutes tomorrow."
On Rodri: “There’s no timeframe for Rodri’s return yet. He’s not ready yet”.
“For sure he’s getting better, training with us partially. But after what happened two times, prior incidents in muscular, we're going to see how he evolves this week”.
On Kalvin Phillips: "Start no, but maybe travel with us. He is a player for the squad who is coming back, he trains with us. He belongs to us.
"He's always an invaluable guy, it's a joy to have him."
Is there pressure heading into the game?
The questions then turned to pressure and whether there is more or less pressure playing a team from a lower league like Swansea.
"It's not my first time, I have played 10 seasons here and I've played many times with Carabao, FA Cups.
"Teams from lower divisions we have always taken seriously otherwise we wouldn't have had the success we have had in the past so we prepare the same way.
"Incredible focus, sometimes even more."
Trafford and Donnarumma learn from one another
Goalkeepers James Trafford and Gianluigi Donnarumma are both competing for a spot between the sticks this season under Guardiola who praised the Englishman and admits the pair learn from one another.
"He is in a special position. We are delighted with him in training. We need him in the Premier League and the Champions League. He is an incredible player.
"Gigi learns from James and James learns from Gigi."
Will Marmoush and Cherki start?
Finally, Guardiola was asked about Rayan Cherki and Omar Marmoush and if they have a chance to start against Swansea after having lower minutes this season.
"For them, for the defenders, for midfielders, for everyone.
"They played a few minutes last game. Everyone has to prove they can help us."
