Arsenal head to Portugal to face Sporting following a loss to Manchester City in the EFL Cup final and a disappointing 2-1 defeat at Southampton in Saturday’s FA Cup quarter-final.
Ahead of the match, Arsenal's squad took part in a training session in which the players faced each other in groups of four while balancing a ball between their heads and pens between their fingers.
When asked to explain such a bizarre situation, Arteta revealed that every session has to be different to keep players on their toes.
“Instead of panic, understand if that happens why it happened and bring clarity. There’s always going to be a question mark and that’s it.
“You have to live the present, you have to deliver it every day. That’s the standard we set and that’s part of our identity and it’s part of this football club.
“A training session has to have different elements. And it has to be related to the messages we send and the compromises and commitments we’ve done between us.”
Arsenal will hope to progress in the Champions League before facing Bournemouth in the Premier League where they are nine points clear at the top with seven games left to play.
Training sessions such as this could help the squad grow closer in what has been a tough few weeks for the side whose quadruple hopes have been crushed.
