Talavera pushed Real Madrid all the way before eventually losing at home 3-2.

Afterwards, Gonzalez - speaking with EFE - stated the fans should be happy with how the team performed.

He also said  he will always remember that Real Madrid finished the match at the Municipal El Prado "wasting time", with "long balls and camped in their half", which he described as "unbelievable".

The goalkeeper also said that, although the game became difficult with the score at 0-2 at the end of the first half, they were able to recover to the point of almost being able to tie the game with a header from Gonzalo Di Renzo that Andriy Lunin stopped with "a spectacular hand".

González lamented his mistake on Real Madrid's third goal: "It bounced badly and I couldn't save it."

With a smile on his face, the goalkeeper noted that after making that error, both Kylian Mbappé and Jude Bellingham came over to offer him encouragement.
